OVER-THE-RHINE "A TALE OF TWO WORLDS" OTR, is believed to be the largest, most intact urban historic district in the United States. OTR at first glance would appear to be an integrated community intertwined in peaceful harmony. But after you stroll around the community you quickly observe whites and blacks cohabitate a common space separate and unequal. How can you have a honest conversation about race in America when no one want to compensate victims of racism. Job training, jobs, family counseling, inferior schools, drug alcohol rehab, police brutality, poverty, mass incarceration are just some of the issues white America fail to openly dialogue about. Most blacks view whites who are privileged as racist and most privileged whites see poor blacks as lazy and criminal. I don't wana get to much into the politics and racism, thus I prefer you to focus on the photographs I selected to illustrate my photo essay.
