He grew up in Toledo, Ohio a small Midwestern city located on the doorsteps of Detroit, MI. Anthony was blessed to have creative mentors all around him starting with his father the late photographer Clifton Vines. Anthony was also mentored by seven brothers. The late Marvin Vines a national acclaimed fine artist and brother documentary photographer the late Thomas Vines set a standard of excellence for Anthony to reach for. Artists Statement: "It's not art if you aren't connected to your creative energy because of the restraints placed on you by high tech cameras and photo editing software. I still enjoy putting pencil to paper and pulling out an old manual film camera. My motto has always been...keep it simple because creativity equals infinity."
